Established in 1989, the l’Alfàs del Pi Film Festival emerged from a love for cinema and the aim to enrich the film culture of the Costa Blanca region. Over the years, it has evolved into one of Spain’s premier platforms for short films, drawing both up-and-coming talents and seasoned filmmakers. The prestigious Silver Lighthouse Award has previously honored notable figures in Spanish cinema, such as Emma Suárez, Antonio Resines, Maribel Verdú, and José Sacristán, reinforcing the festival’s status as a celebration of artistic achievement and enduring contributions to the film industry.
Engagement and Inclusivity Beyond the Red Carpet
Beyond the glamour of the red carpet and the excitement of awards, the festival has consistently served as a gathering place for industry professionals, film enthusiasts, and the local community. It offers a variety of activities including open-air screenings, workshops, discussions, and youth programs. Past editions have emphasized a commitment to social issues, diversity, and inclusion, featuring special sections focused on gender perspectives and regional filmmaking.
