Winners Announced at the 75th Berlin International Film Festival

The 75th Berlin International Film Festival recently revealed its winners during an awards ceremony at the Berlinale Palast on February 22. This year’s competition featured 19 films, with director Todd Haynes leading the International Jury, which included notable figures such as director Nabil Ayouch, costume designer Bina Daigeler, actress Fan Bingbing, director Rodrigo Moreno, film critic and author Amy Nicholson, and director, actor, and screenwriter Maria Schrader.

Highlights of the Awards

The coveted Golden Bear for Best Film was awarded to “Dreams (Sex Love)” directed by Dag Johan Haugerud. Rose Byrne received the Silver Bear for Best Supporting Performance for her role in “If I Had Legs I’d Kick You,” while Andrew Scott was honored with the Silver Bear for Best Leading Performance in “Blue Moon.” Huo Meng earned the Silver Bear for Best Director for his film “Living The Land,” and Gabriel Mascaro’s “The Blue Trail (O último azul)” won both the Silver Bear Jury Prize and the Silver Grand Jury Prize.

Opening Ceremony Festivities

The Berlinale commenced with an opening ceremony featuring Festival Director Tricia Tuttle and Jury President Todd Haynes, who introduced the International Jury.
